The necessity of truth
I sought truth with an iron first for a long time now. Assuming “the truth will set me free”. Thinking, only by knowing the truth can somebody be truly happy. Just after so many years of meditating and thinking about life and everything there is to it... Continue reading »Filed under Philosophy | Tags: life, truth | Comment (0)
My Dear
My dear
The time has come to grow up;
The days of youth and dreams are over;
The time to face the world has come;
Be not be afraid;
I will hold your hand along the way;
You are not alone;
Even tho you always felt that way;
So I give you my hand;
Take it and follow me;
Or leave it and go astray;
You will hear of wisdom beyond your understanding;
Learn what you can;
Leave the others that you cant comprehend;
The time will come when they will make sense as well;

Beyond
Beyond thousands of years
Of myth and lies
I lie confused in a world
That doesn’t make sense
So I go beyond our logic
Seeking answers that where
Once buried
And others, never discovered
So I sail on the
Endless sea of mysteries
Where nothing is what it seems
Where land never existed
Nor will it ever Continue reading »
Christianity Falls Short
Amazing isn’t it? How every religion claim to be the only way for truth. Funny, isn’t it? That every person thinks he is following the true religion. Weird, isn’t it? How we use our logic for everything except religion. I was a Christian by birth, I became a Christian by Choice, I’m a Free Spirit by Decision. The bible has holes in it. For being the only way of truth, the bible falls short.

He was rushing, through the traffic jam, making a quick path to the building. It was a tall grey building, carefully engineered for efficiency, precisely symmetric in every possibly way. He passed quickly through the front glass door spotting a “No pets” sign.
It was calm, there were people walking steadily, distracted by their task at hand. Everything was in order. The occupied receptionist smiled as he reached for her desk. She greeted him with a friendly face, seeking to know how she could be of any assistance.
He was going there to drop his work resume, it seemed a good plan, he needed to be free, to have everything he wished for, this was a good start.
Once he was done, the receptionist asked him to fill one last thing. It was a blank paper, with certain questions on it. The receptionist wished him a good day, parting him with the same wide friendly smile. He filled in the paper, noticing something that felt comforting. A sentence at the end said “Your opinion matters”, he felt good about it, he felt important. He took the paper and proceeded to drop it. He heard people chat lively about their promotions and their happy lives, and laugh about some poor people who they regarded as wasting their time not working and not having the same opportunity as they have. After all they were superior, they had a job which would provide happiness, while others struggled in spending time doing nothing but weird hobbies.
He deposited the paper in the a large box, it was a quite familiar box, it was huge, going from the ground up to almost his waist height. He admired how the people in charge took the opinion of such large audience. He pushed the paper in and it tilted, revealing a small concealed logo with three circling arrows.
A strange smell came to him for a moment, it felt weird, he turned around. He saw a high-level employee -judging by the high-quality of the suit. The employee was accompanied by a dog, walking steadily. He was cheerful, perfectly obedient and loyal. Then he realized that the smell intensifying. He could not bear it. He proceeded directly to the heavy glass door. It felt very liberating to open the door and walk outside.
The sun had blinded him, it never felt that good. He walked back slowly, enjoying the stroll. He noticed two people hanging around smiling, yet this smile felt different.
He reached the bus stop, gently proceeded to his seat, and waited for the bus to slowly take him back home.
Cultural Segregation
With the upcoming “Beirut Rock Festival 2009”, certain schools ended up distributing papers addressed to parents that mainly request that their children do not attend such an event. Although this wouldn’t seem troubling if the school actually cared for the students, but this is more of a cultural attack on a certain culture, and especially on select people.

The Letter Addressed to the Student's parents
The Letter states that the event is “Dangerous”, and although they appreciate music and enjoy it, they claim that during the event, certain “Gothic” groups will attempt to spread it’s culture, referred to as “The culture of death”, and will spread and display dark thoughts. The letter also states that there will be a high risk of presence and distribution of drugs, and that there is a severely high probability that there will be practice of certain “satanic” rituals. Finally the note questions the event’s ban on cameras and filming affirming that this will only serves the purpose to have no witnesses. Therefore it advises parents to not let their children attend such an event to “protect and preserve” them.

Wretched dark figures appeared in the sky,
And towards the earth spat drops of hate,
On the mountain people build dams so high,
To undoubtedly feast of that which came
Drunk, corrupted, they slowly decayed
Undead they walk, blinded by hate,
Vision tainted, conscience faded,
Wells of darkness they became

NDU: A bad fall for Fall 09
“I feel that the university has betrayed me !!” (A CS student)
As the new semester starts at NDU, students line up to register their courses, eager to pick a schedule that would fit most of their time. However if you have been signing up to FALL09 one big disappointment awaits you. I do understand that teachers are limited and have their times, and I do understand that one cannot have too many sections for a class of a small group of people. However there has been a lot of inconsistencies with the offerings this semester, that upset a lot of students, this article tend to show such inconsistencies. After I heard too many bad feedback from my friends, and having experienced the whole process myself, I would like just to put things clear, because such things , and for the sake of professionalism, require an explanation. I would like to point out too that this inconsistency seams to be unique to this time only, and so is not a general habit.

I was wandering what is the importance of the Afterlife and how most people (and possibly most religions) keep thinking about it and I have to say it got some good buzz along the years. This post is not about whether or not this afterlife exists, its more about focusing on what we can control as human beings and the relevancy of such Afterlife. This article is yet another opinion.
