A smile in the dark
A shattered cry in the distance,
A face with a forgotten smile.
The child who lost her brilliance,
Hides alone in the night.
Tell me why is it everytime,
That your past is revived
Silence can be heard,
And you weep alone overnight.
Are these dark suspended memories,
Worth losing that angelic smile?
Is this wrath on past centuries,
An excuse to live a perfect lie?
Because the present is yours to take,
Because when you smile the whole world shine,
Do not stumble on a past so stale,
But transcend reality and you’ll be just fine.

Beautiful words!
There is hope in the poem, but things do not work this way always, somtimes the present is the one who hold u back, the present keeps reminding u of the past
Nice… who is it about?
Thanks ^_^
@reine: the present may remind you of the past or you may run into things that trigger a memory of the past, but as long as it is a memory it won’t do much damage, it’s when emotions are tied to the memory and the memory is relived that the damage is done
@Kio: Does it have to be about a person? It could be about anyone remember his past, though this poem is dedicated to someone but isn’t necessarily about someone
to relive the past in the present not as a memory but as reality
it differs on how u look on it, ur looking from the outside, the same way I can look at it, but once u see it from the inside u won’t look at it the same
but there is no mistakes only lessons and in each crisis there is an opportunity
i get what u mean by the past is past, and the present is ours, we can’t control what happen to us but we can control how to react and what to do next
and here u go I admit I am who I am because of my past, either it was good or bad
